Bolshoi Ballet In Cinema
Target Live are pleased to helping Trafalgar Releasing and Pathe with the PR and grassroots campaign for a series of cinema screenings of the Bolshoi Ballet. The 2017/18 season presents the greatest classics restaged by today’s most celebrated choreographers for a cinema-exclusive experience featuring some of the best dancers in the world.
Three historical ballets recreated by Alexei Ratmansky (Le Corsaire, Romeo and Juliet and The Flames of Paris) will be shown on the big screen alongside John Neumeier’s The Lady of the Camellias and Jean-Christophe Maillot’s riveting The Taming of the Shrew. Three timeless classics and audience favorites will complete the season: Giselle, The Nutcracker and Coppélia.

Young Frankenstein press night
Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein opened at the Garrick Theatre last night, playing to a star-studded audience. The audience were howling with laughter from start to finish, giving the cast a well-deserved standing ovation, before being treated to a hilarious speech from Mel himself, in which the cast discovered they would not be fired! Reviews have since been pouring in, with multiple 5* Star reviews including the Guardian and the Daily Mail.

Basquiat: Boom for Real
Target Live are working with the Barbican to produce a high impact cross-media campaign for Basquiat: Boom for Real, leveraging social, programmatic, print and out of home. This unprecedented exhibition brings together an outstanding selection of more than 100 works from international museums and private collections and is the first public show of Basquiat’s work in the UK for 30 years.
This “Dazzling” (Guardian) exhibition runs until 28th January 2018.

Manchester Theatre Awards
Target Live’s Manchester office is to manage the Press & PR for the next Manchester Theatre Awards. The Manchester Theatre Awards, in association with Target Live, will be held at The Lowry’s Quays Theatre on Friday 9 March 2018, hosted by actor and comedian Justin Moorhouse. The annual awards – the most important theatrical prize-giving outside London – has been a major fixture of the North West cultural calendar since 1981 and will honour productions seen in Greater Manchester during 2017. With the backing of the Greater Manchester theatres, a judging panel of some of the most experienced critics in the country, who attend hundreds of performances a year, actively celebrate the significant impact of theatre in Greater Manchester. Since the relaunch of the awards in 2011, famous faces from stage and screen to have won include Sir Kenneth Branagh, Maxine Peake, Rufus Hound, Rory Kinnear, Barry Humphries, Julian Glover and Sian Phillips.
Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein opens in London on 10th October, and Mel has been busy making waves ahead of the big day! His interview with the Today programme on Radio 4 was picked up around the world, before a hilarious appearance on The One Show which saw him subsequently trending on Twitter! Supporting Mel’s headline-making press, the cast have also been busy – Hadley Fraser had a major interview run in Sunday Times Culture, Ross Noble was profiled by the Evening Standard and the Daily Mail spoke with Lesley Joseph. Hillary Clinton at London’s Southbank Centre
The former US Secretary of State is coming to Southbank Centre’s London Literature Festival on Sunday 15 October. Her only London appearance was announced today, and our media team is working with Southbank Centre on maximising awareness for this high-profile event. The campaign includes targeted social media advertising and large format print ads in The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, The Observer and The Sunday Telegraph across the weekend.
Tickets go on sale to Southbank Centre Members on Thursday 14 September, and the general public on Friday 15 September.
MMA ‘Smarties’ Award nomination
Target Live and Gameloft have been shortlisted for an MMA ‘Smarties’ Award, under the ‘best use of Mobile Native’ for their work on Festival Republic’s Reading and Leeds 2017 campaign; the winner will be announced in New York on September 25th.
Knowing that teen and younger audiences spend the majority of time on their mobile devices Target-Live partnered with Gameloft to develop an innovative mobile game that would harness this behaviour and showcase the exclusive content from artists performing at Reading & Leeds Festival. Combining this approach with the unique abilities of the mobile experience Target-Live and Gameloft delivered over 375,000 completed gameplays in the UK, and over 11,000 clicks to ticketing sites. By the end of the campaign, over 222,000 minutes of gameplay were clocked up, driving a significant boost in engagement and ticket sales for the festivals.
Peace Train The Cat Stevens Story began its first ever UK tour last night in Perth, Scotland, following a sell out run at the World Famous Sydney Opera House. Peace Train is a night of music and story-telling seeking out the man in the music and telling the story behind the songs which features 23 hit songs including Father & Son and First Cut Is The Deepest. Target Live have supported the transfer of this show by leading on both the Marketing and PR campaigns since going on-sale in March. The show runs until 17 September 2017.
