42nd Street, the quintessential backstage musical comedy classic, has its first preview at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on Monday 20 March 2017, ahead of a star-studded press night on 4 April. The Target Live PR team’s pre-opening publicity campaign ramped up this week, with a phenomenal 50 strong tap number on The One Show, with Sheena Easton interviewed on the sofa. Major print pieces are to follow in The Times and the Daily Telegraph, plus magazine interviews in Gay Times and Classic Pop Magazines, alongside other key national broadcast interviews on Radio 2, Radio 4 and This Morning.
Russell Howard – Round the World
Russell Howard returns to the live stage for the first time in three years with his biggest global tour to date – Round the World. This started in February with five dates in Dublin and will finish in Sydney in July. The tour included 10 in the round shows at the Royal Albert Hall and broke the record for the longest ever consecutive run of dates for a performer at the venue. Target Live handled all Media for the show which included TV, Digital, Radio, Outdoor and Press.
La La Land In Concert, hits the UK
Described as the film of its generation, capturing the hearts of everyone whilst breaking records around the world, now LA LA LAND will be brought to audiences like never before via a huge screen accompanied by a 60-piece orchestra this September. Dates include: Manchester Bridgewater Hall (21st), Bristol Colston Hall (22nd), York Barbican (23rd), Birmingham Symphony Hall (Matinee 24th), Edinburgh Usher Hall (27th), Bord Gais Dublin (28th)
Written and directed by Damien Chazelle, LA LA LAND tells the story of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
LA LA LAND received 14 nominations at the 89th Academy Awards ®, winning six awards for Best Director, Best Actress, as well as Best Original Song for ‘City of Stars’, Best Original Score, Best Production Design, and Best Cinematography.

Internationally celebrated soprano Sondra Radvanovsky was the first singer in Metropolitan Opera history to perform all ‘three queens’ in Donizetti’s Tudor dramas, Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda and Roberto Devereux. She performs at major opera houses across the globe and delights audiences with her “outright gorgeous, poignant and silvery voice” – The Washington Post.
She will be performing a recital at Cadogan Hall on 16 March as part of the Rosenblatt Recitals series, London’s only series of world-class opera recitals, and Target Live has put in place a campaign targeting London’s opera fans and recital goers via a mix of email marketing, Facebook advertising and grassroots.
Target Live are also working on the launch of the 2107/18 season of Rosenblatt Recitals including new design and a full media campaign.
It’s festival time!
All the major festivals we work with have had huge line up announcements in the past week. Eminem is the third Reading & Leeds headliner, joining Muse and Kasabian. V Festival announced Jay-Z and Pink will headline the 2017 edition; while the UK’s leading urban music festival, Wireless announced Chance the Rapper, Skepta, The Weeknd and more as it returns to Finsbury Park, London on 7–9 July. Festival Republic have also launched a new one-day festival at Finsbury Park, Community – headlined by Catfish and the Bottlemen. Be ready for the Latitude Festival announcement tomorrow, 1st March.

At Last – The Etta James Story
At last the critically acclaimed show about the life and music of the icon Etta James is arriving to the UK this March. Following its world premiere in Melbourne in 2013 At Last – The Etta James Story has since packed theatres throughout Australia and New Zealand. In 2016 the show returned to Melbourne for a sell-out season at The Arts Centre and July saw the show triumph for a third season at The Sydney Opera House.
Telling the story of soul legend Etta James’ turbulent life and features some of her most beloved songs including Tell Mama, Something’s Got A Hold On Me, Sugar On The Floor, the heart rending I’d Rather Go Blind, her iconic signature song At Last and more.

Target Live marks its 10th anniversary!
Target Live marks its 10th anniversary with the announcement today that the company is to open a new office in Manchester.
Opening on Monday 20th February, the office will be based within the Havas Village on Princess Street. The new team has more than 25 collective years of experience, encompassing in-house and agency marketing and PR, client management and media planning & buying. The team will offer the individuality of an independent agency whilst part of the infrastructure of Target Live’s London office.
The team includes: Emma King, Anna Whitwood and Kate Goerner all of whom are well known on the Manchester Arts scene.

Sovremennik Theatre season
Target Live are proud to have launched the forthcoming Sovremennik Theatre season at the Piccadilly Theatre, arriving this May. Under the direction of original founding member Galina Volchek, the legendary Russian theatre company are bringing 3 of their most celebrated productions, Three Comrades, Two for the Seesaw, and Three Sisters to London with a cast and creative team of over 100 people. Performed in Russian with English surtitles, the season in honour of Galina’s incredible career will feature two of the countries most celebrated performers, Chulpan Khamatova and Kirill Safonov. Working with the Sovremennik Theatre Target Live have designed season and production campaigns, and are managing the marketing, media, ticketing, and social media as well as PR and publicity.
The Boys in the Band
Following a sell-out run at Park Theatre, The Boys in the Band opens tonight at the Vaudeville Theatre for 15 performances only. This is the first major revival of this iconic play in almost two decades. Razor sharp and packed with wit, The Boys in the Band is fresh, startling and brilliantly entertainment. Target Live’s marketing and PR teams are thrilled to be working with producers Tom O’Connell and James Seabright on the West End transfer. The extensive campaign has included advertising across gay titles, targeted digital and Underground LEPs. The PR team have secured a major feature in The Guardian with Mark Gatiss and Ian Hallard as well as broadcast interviews on Radio 2, BBC London 94.9 and ITV.
