Last night Mandela: The Official Exhibition opened its doors for an incredible guest night for press, cultural partners and friends of the Mandela family. The event included an exclusive first look at the astonishing artefacts and interactive instillations on display - culminating in a stunning series of performances from Brit School students, London’s African Gospel Choir and DJ sets from legendary music producer Arthur Baker and Jerry Dammers, founding member of The Specials and writer of the iconic song ‘Free Nelson Mandela’. Nelson Mandela’s grandson Chief Mandela and Mandela’s former aide and lifelong friend Zelda La Grange took to the stage to deliver a set of tremendously moving speeches – including a call to continue Mandela’s legacy in the fight against oppression around the world. Mandela: The Official Exhibition runs till 8 April 2019 at 26 Leake Street, Waterloo, London.
